Frustrated Isles Lose 7th Straight

The New York Islanders are growing more and more frustrated as they dropped their seventh straight game, a 3-1 loss to the Carolina Hurricanes at the Nassau Coliseum.  Rookie goalie Justin Peters made 34 saves to earn the win in his first NHL start.

  • Isles Lose Hillen With Broken Jaw

    Islanders' defenseman Jack Hillen will be out for 6-8 weeks after suffering a broken jaw in Tuesday night's 7-2 loss to the Washington Capitals. The injury took place late in the first period when Hillen took an Alexander Ovechkin shot dead on in the jaw from about 20 feet away.
