With one team on an eight-game winning streak and another on a six-game winless streak, the teams in Atlantic Hockey have a lot to prove in the slate of games this weekend.

Dogs are man’s best friend.  But when they bite back, boy do they bite back.  Sit and stay were not two familiar terms for the Bulldogs who fought through three periods for a tie.  It wasn’t until overtime ensued that the Minutemen established who was in control of the game.

The Bridgeport Sound Tigers hosted the Albany River Rats at the Arena at Harbor Yard.  In the 4-1 win, the Sound Tigers scored two power play goals and one shorthanded goal as well as killing all seven penalties

Double overtime and two referee reviews later, we finally found out who won the East Regional and is heading to the Frozen Four, the UVM Catamounts.

With just three rankings separating them and the remainder of their seasons hanging in the balance, the University of New Hampshire Wildcats and Boston College Eagles skated onto the Whittemore Center ice fiercely and with goal in sight.

Sometimes you hear empowering stories of the underdog coming out on top or the favored team barely squeaking by with a win. Well, on Friday night at the Milford Ice Pavilion, nothing of that sort took place.

The Bridgeport Sound Tigers took on the Philadelphia Phantoms on Sunday at the Arena at Harbor Yard. Their 4-2 victory has put them back on top, not only of the East Division, but the entire AHL.

The Bridgeport Sound Tigers hosted the Wilkes-Barre Scranton Penguins in Bridgeport Wednesday afternoon. Their 3-2 victory boosted them into a first place tie with the Hershey Bears in the conference, each of whom have eight wins and 17 points.
