Mike Alloy will bring you a game blog from Agganis Arena for BU-Northeastern. I'll be back after the game to give you the final top 10 poll.

4:21 P.M. ET

Well there you have it, Minnesota has defeated Michigan Tech. They improve to 6-0-4 on the year and are the new #1 team in the Inside Hockey poll.

It is the first collegiate shutout for Gopher net-minder Alex Kangas.

The Gopher fans are celebrating at Mariucci Arena as they are the new #1 team.

We'll keep you posted as the top 10 starts to straighten out after the BU-Northeastern game. Coming up in a little bit, the three scenarios for the top 10

3:39 P.M. ET

Gophers up after two. However, they have blown a couple of leads after two, both at home. The first one was against Minnesota State, and then of course yesterday afternoon against Michigan Tech. Minnesota is 4-0-2 when leading after two periods of play.

3:18 P.M. ET

If your watching the game on FSN North or on Fox College Sports they asked when the last time the Gophers were undefeated in their first 10 games. I can tell you they were 8-0-2 in 2006-07. What happened that year? The Gophers won the WCHA Regular Season and tournament, only to lose in the NCAA West Regional final.

Anyway, with a win today (or a tie), the Gophers will still be unbeaten in their first 10 games. Air Force is already 10-0.

3:04 P.M. ET

The meeting at Denver next weekend will be the only time the two will meet. Minnesota still has Colorado College four times, Minnesota State twice, St. Cloud State twice.

The Gophers are now up 3-0 after a great pass from Jay Barriball and Jordan Schoreder. It could've easily been 2-1 Minnesota as Michigan Tech had some great chances.

2:59 P.M. ET

Next weekend the Gophers have two with Denver at Magness Arena. Head coach George Gwozdecky wants the fans to be in full force. It might add a little intensity for both teams if Minnesota is indeed ranked #1.

2:31 P.M. ET

Minnesota gets the first laugh as they scored two power play goals, one on a five-on-three and shortly after on the five-on-four. However, the Gophers had a 2-0 lead yesterday afternoon. Anything can happen so don't count on the Gophers being #1 quite yet.

2:10 P.M. ET

The puck has dropped in the Minnesota Michigan Tech game. Let's get this thing started!

2:01 P.M. ET

Let's go to Michigan and Miami for a minute. Miami can finish as high as No. 6 in six scenarios, so that will be the most likely spot for the RedHawks, while Michigan can finish as high as No. 7 in three scenarios. Most likely however, they will be at the eighth spot.

1:52 P.M. ET

After conducting all the possibilities, Denver is out of the top 10, as well as New Hampshire. Denver was swept by St. Cloud State, while UNH could not savor a victory on the road at UMass-Lowell and BC, giving up eight goals each game. More updates to come.

1:43 P.M. ET

After my last blog entry, I decided to come back with possible scenarios for the top 10. There are nine scenarios that can happen. I won't go through them all, but I can breakdown the chances of things happening.

If Minnesota wins, they will be the No. 1 team. Three scenarios of that happening so that is a 33% chance of the Gophers being No. 1 this week.

For Boston University to keep the No. 1 spot, they will have to win and either have Minnesota lose or tie. The chances of that happening are approximately over 22%.

Which means, Colorado College has the best shot at roughly 45% of being No. 1 after their split of Minnesota State this weekend. Their scenarios are the following: Both BU and Minnesota lose, Minnesota loss and BU tie, BU tie and Minnesota loss, and both teams tie.

The lowest BU can drop to is to No. 6 and the lowest Minnesota can drop to is to No. 5.

Notre Dame, who was No. 5 last week, can climb all the way up to the top two, while Boston College, whom Notre Dame defeated last weekend, can jump to No. 3.

Northeastern can also climb as high as No. 5.

The only locks as of right now are at No. 9 and No. 10 where Air Force and Princeton has solidified those spots.

Once the Minnesota game is over, I will update the scenarios of what could happen after the BU-Northeastern game, but for now, let's get ready for an exciting day of college hockey.
