Avery on Jimmy Fallon

June 16, 2009 @ 2:15 PM ET

Sean Avery appeared on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon last night and was thoroughly entertaining as usual. Highlights included:

-Avery approaching Fallon menacingly because Fallon "put me in a green room the size of my closet"

-A discussion of Avery's eventful weekend at Bonnaroo where he apparently made nice with Joffrey Lupul of the Philadelphia Flyers. Lupul hit Avery from behind at the end of a game this season and Avery says he turned around ready to swing at anyone and ended up hitting Scott Hartnell who he described as a "clown."

-His Vogue internship. Avery certainly enjoyed the clothes, but he also enjoyed being surrounded by "women and gay guys, so I really didn't have any competition."

-Avery continuing to insist that he has learned a lot about controlling his anger issues. Hard to buy that following the Capitals series, but that's what makes Avery himself.

-The requisite charity acknowledgments for any TV interview. Apparently Avery gets suits for men in transition phases, some just out of prison, so that they'll look good for job interviews.

-Naturally Fallon bet Avery to a shootout. If Avery won he was supposed to get Fallon's suit, if Fallon won, Avery had to wear a Flyers jersey. Avery caught Fallon off guard by quickly responding to Fallon's suit bargain, "you'll take this off right now though?"

-Avery won the shootout but wasn't very impressive, prompting him to say "obviously I'm not a goal scorer, I'm going to take a lot of heat for this."
