The Toronto Maple Leafs took it to the Bruins in what proved to be a very physical contest. Boston went up with a flurry, scoring back-to-back goals to end the first period. Patrice Bergeron netted his first goal since returning to the ice this season. But the boys in black just didn't have enough steam to stick with the Leafs. After broken glass, some bone-crunching hits, and punches thrown, the Leafs came out on top 4-2.

Maple Leafs, Flames Swap AHLers

July 27, 2009 @ 7:10 PM ET

The Calgary Flames and Toronto Maple Leafs swapped a pair of minor leaguers in a three player trade. The Flames acquired defenseman Anton Stralman and forward Colin Stuart from the Toronto Maples for forward Wayne Primeau. Toronto also received Calgary's 2nd round pick in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft, while the Flames received Toronto's 7th round pick in 2012.

Stralman, 22, had spent his entire career with the Maple Leafs and Toronto Marlies. Stralman split the 2008-09 season between the Maple Leafs and Marlies, registering seven goals and nine assists in 36 games with the Marlies. In 38 games with the Maple Leafs, he notched one goal and 12 assists.

In 57 career AHL games with Toronto, Stralman has scored seven goals and 20 assists, along with 46 penalty minutes. In 88 career NHL games with the Maple Leafs, he's scored four goals and 18 assists, along with 38 penalty minutes.

Stuart, 27, was acquired from the Atlanta Thrashers on July 1 in the trade that sent defenseman Pavel Kubina to the Thrashers. In 42 games with the Chicago Wolves during the 2008-09 season, Stuart registered nine goals and six assists. In 33 games with the Thrashers, he recorded five goals and three assists.

In 284 career AHL games with Chicago, Stuart has scored 51 goals and 41 assists, along with 235 penalty minutes. In 51 career NHL games with Atlanta, Stuart has notched eight goals and five assists, along with 24 penalty minutes.

If Stralman and Stuart fail to make Calgary's roster out of training camp, both players will play for the Flames' minor league affiliate, Abbotsford Heat.
